Marian Powell
Marian has 25 years experience working with companies to increase customer loyalty, improve process quality, and drive revenue growth. Her areas of expertise are sales strategy, sales effectiveness, process improvement, and change management. She has led global sales forces in the financial services, transportation and technology industries and managed teams with 30 to more than 2,000 sales representatives.
Marian works with companies to reframe their sales strategies and practices based on a deeper understanding of customer needs. She also brings this passion for customers to her work with internal staff functions that want to improve their own process quality and customer satisfaction. In addition, Marian coaches executives and managers on ways to enhance their leadership effectiveness.
Previously, Marian spent 17 years at GE, most recently as the Global Commercial Director for GE Equipment Services where she was responsible for Sales, Marketing and Pricing for seven businesses with operations in Europe, China and North America. Other roles she held at GE include Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for GE Fleet Services, where she was responsible for Sales, Marketing, e-Commerce and Product Management, and Senior Vice President Sales for the GE Railcar leasing business. Marian has also worked in business development, marketing communications, quality, customer service, operations, and human resources.
Marian's industry-leading Client Advisory Boards, new techniques in customer loyalty research, and application of Six Sigma to the selling process were adopted across GE. She led the GE Fleet Services "digitization" effort, where her innovative approach to developing on-line customer workflow tools was honored with awards from CIO Magazine and the Data Warehouse Institute. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt with deep expertise in change management.
Marian holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art and an M.B.A. from De Paul University.
